Planet Partitioning shows ambition with internal glazing at Ampersand Building in London

Year in Review, Planet Partitioning South, 2015

Due to the ever expanding Planet South team the year started out with an office renovation to make way for new meeting rooms and desks. Using partitioning to dramatically overhaul the office layout a section of our demountable partitioning that divided the second floor was removed and a large boardroom was added as well as a smaller, more informal meeting room.

Over the summer Planet South completed the stunning atrium and staircase at Ampersand in London’s West End. Planet worked with McLaren Construction and Darling Associates to design, manufacture and install the bespoke architectural glazing for this project. The refurbishment of the space into luxury residential flats and offices in Soho provided the opportunity to ‘transform a London landmark’. The design of the atrium threw up some challenges for the team read more about the project here.

During the Autumn Planet South started work on Santander’s new London Headquarters on Triton Sq. Planet works with Santander nationwide on their store branches and were recommended to Marks Barfield Architects, with clear instructions; superb acoustic performance. Upon completion in November Planet met this criteria with Planet’s 100DG complemented with SonoTec doors. Together they achieved the acoustic performance needed for the offices. The Analok bronze anodised finish of the partitions was achieved to complete the luxurious aesthetic of the space. Planet’s FireTec doors fulfilled the EI30 fire performance required for the corridors while matching the overall colour scheme and glazing lines.
Other notable projects secured by Planet Architectural Glass in 2015 include: Imperial West, Heathrow T5, New Street Square, BskyB.
