Willesden Green Cultural Centre and Library
Planet are delighted to announce the completion of one of our latest projects, the new library and cultural centre in Willesden Green, London. The centre, designed by Allford Hall Monaghan Morris opened earlier this month and achieved an BREEAM Excellent rating
Working under Galliford Try, in partnership with Brent Council the redevelopment of the Cultural Centre will provide the area with a library, museum, study space, galleries, archive, café and customer centre. The new local landmark consists of a stunning new renovation, incorporating the old Victorian library with two wings attached running alongside Brondesbury Park and Grange Road.
At the heart of the building is Planet Partitioning’s four story internal atrium which provides the building with daylight. Planet also installed their single glazed glass partitioning for a number of meeting rooms with timber doors. A number of SonoTec acoustic glass doors were also used throughout the building, single and double glazed doors provide the library and cultural centre with the various acoustic performances that go up to 40 dBRw.
On land adjacent to the site 95 high quality one and two bed flats are to be built, further rejuvenating the area.
Planet are pleased to have been part of such an excellent community project.
