Strathclyde Police HQ

Morgan Sindall approached Planet Partitioning to put together a cost proposal for all the internal demountable glazed screens, for the new five-storey Strathclyde Police Station on River East, in Dalmarnock, Glasgow.

Due to the sensitive nature of police work, the building needed very high levels of sound attenuation, exceeding 50 dB Rw between meeting rooms and offices.

Our solution

Working with Cooper Comer Architects and Morgan Sindall, Planet Partitioning used a combination of p100 double glazed partitioning and p20 single glazed partitioning and IsoClear glass doors for each office.

The 120,000 sq ft building required partitioning for 15-20 offices on each floor, including a grey design pattern to aid privacy. All in all, the work took around three months.

Project insights

The new Police Station at Riverside East holds more than 1,000 staff and is part of Clyde Gateway’s vision to transform the banks of the Clyde by 2018 – a regeneration project that includes a new business park and housing.
