Severn Trent Water HQ

Severn Trent Water is one of England’s 10 water authorities, supplying water and sewerage services to eight million people. When it had its new head office built in Coventry, Associated Architects and BAM Construction asked Planet Partitioning to put together the internal partitioning specification for partitioning for a Category B fit out, for the 170,000 sq. ft. purpose-built, seven-storey building.

The two wings of the building were connected by an impressive central atrium and work included office and meeting room frontages and the atrium glazing across all seven floors.

Our solution

Working with Associated Architects and BAM, Planet Partitioning calculated the line loads for the atrium and installed seven storeys of frameless atrium glazing. This allows natural light to flow throughout the building, while using Planet Partitioning frameless single-glazing ensures maximum visibility to create a seamless, modern finish.

For the meeting room and offices, Planet Partitioning installed bespoke designed framed double glazing.

Project insights

Severn Trent Water’s new operations centre in Coventry has been hailed for setting new standards for low-carbon UK office buildings, receiving the BREEAM Excellent rating and a ‘B’ EPC rating.

This is one of the most significant new projects in the region and one of the most important commercial developments in Coventry for over a decade. It’s a highly sophisticated, energy-efficient building that features the latest sustainability technology.
