Billed as the ‘UK’s happiest office’ this new 91,000 sq ft building is now home to the telephone answering service; Moneypenny. It’s fun and quirky interior, including an indoor treehouse; has already been featured on the BBC, in addition to numerous other news and blog sites.

AEW Architects were commissioned by Moneypenny to take the budget of a standard new build and ‘rip up the rule book’ to create an office that inspires and entertains its occupants. AEW achieved this by creating a large office that offered both the high acoustic insulation needed for the telephone operators and a large social atrium for relaxation and meetings

Our solution

Planet won the project after impressing AEW Architects with cost effective and stylish products. Having originally suggested the FireTec range of fire rated doors, the client favoured the look and feel of FireStop in an oak finish to complement the earthy tones and playful ‘outdoors’ theme of the office design. The FireStop door range are Planet’s robust fire doors and can achieve up to 60/60 fire rating, making them perfect for corridors and lobbies.

For the meeting rooms and office partitioning Planet’s glass slimline partitioning, p20 and full height glass swing doors were used to maximise the light and airy feel of both the office and atrium areas.

Project insights

AEW Architects described the project as a ‘dream commission’ with the £15-million-pound space that consists of two three-storey wings, adjoining a 17m high central atrium that includes a treehouse, a pub, a sun terrace with a dunk pond and nature trails surrounding the building.
