PROJECT. OBJECTIVES

Client Boden

British clothing company, Boden, found the perfect location in Glenfield, Leicester, to expand their warehouse and contact centre. With 250,000 sq ft of warehouse space, and a further 25,000 sq ft of office space, Boden invested £30 million for the Cat B fit-out, to transform the dank warehouse into a vibrant, stylish space, reflecting the brand’s ethos and complementing their London head office.

Planet’s Midlands team were ideally placed to complete the interior partitioning and doors for Boden, already having a close working relationship with Main Contractor, Estilo. The team also assisted with the design and commercial aspects of the project, to secure the works.

OUR
SOLUTION.

With a fashionable interior at the forefront of architect, Spacelab’s, mind, LOFT20 provided the ideal solution. The stylish narrow format framing was polyester powder coated in black and applied to the glass partitioning screens, to create the classic window effect. A fantastic alternative to slim framed office partitioning, LOFT20 was used throughout the interior, from meeting rooms, to the break-out spaces.

Where fire rated partitioning screens and doors were needed, FireClear was the obvious solution, being fully compatible with LOFT20. Achieving E30 fire rating, FireClear had mullions and transoms applied, in the same width and colour as LOFT20, to provide seamless integration throughout the design.

    PROJECT INSIGHTS.

The design team worked closely with the access control contractor to create a custom self-closing hinge for the LOFT style IsoTec doors that Boden had requested.

The move to Glenfield created over 200 new jobs and is part of the company’s plan to future proof the business and shake-up its image as a catalogue company, by opening ‘brick and mortar’ shops across the UK and US.
