Liverpool Exhibition Centre in wins Project of the Year for ISG
Planet Partitioning is delighted to announce that the Exhibition Centre in Liverpool has been awarded Project of the Year (Liverpool) by The North West Construction Awards 2016.
Her Majesty The Queen officially opened the £66m Exhibition Centre and Pullman Hotel earlier this year, a ceremonial plaque was unveiled to mark the special occasion.
Designed by Denton Corker Marchall Architects and built by ISG Contractors, the building is connected to the Echo Arena and ACC Liverpool and was commissioned to boost the city’s appeal as a major event location. With the space spanning over 8,100m2 it’s ideal for large scale conferences and trade fairs such as Comic Con. In addition the Pullman luxury hotel sits at the heart of the venue.
With ISG securing the contract back in October 2012 and works beginning in 2014, Planet came on board to design, supply and install our award winning partitioning system and doors over the summer of 2015. A completely bespoke Planet 100 system with automatic remote control blinds was installed to meet the acoustic requirements of 54dB and a line load of 3.0kN. Back painted glass screen was clad to columns separating the run of glass partitioning, giving the visually impressive effect of a continued run of glass.
Planet Partitioning would like to thank ISG & Denton Corker Marchall Architects for involving Planet in such a prestigious project and congratulate them both on the award.
