Completed Project – The Queen Elizabeth Teaching and Learning Centre at Stratified Medicine Scotland.
Planet Partitioning are pleased to have completed work on The Queen Elizabeth Teaching and Learning Centre at Stratified Medicine Scotland. Part of the £27 million investment for NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde and The University of Glasgow was to provide a training environment for the clinical years of the undergraduate medical degree and postgraduate training facilities.
The new centre that was designed by Boswell Mitchel Johnston Architects will use modern gnome DNA sequencing to select the best treatments for patients with chronic diseases including cancer, cardiovascular and inflammatory conditions.
Working under BAM Construction Glasgow, Planet installed M100 system to achieve the high acoustic levels required by the hospital. In addition Planet installed the Frameless Eco Fire Rated System to the atrium screens throughout the building.
The desired aesthetic throughout the project was a clean glass appearance, however Boswell Mitchel Johnston did not wish to compromise the acoustics of the building. Planet therefore offered p100DG combined with IsoClear glass doorsets to maintain the high level of acoustic rating.
Planet would like to thank Boswell Mitchel Johnston and BAM Construction Glasgow for the opportunity to work on this fantastic new student facility and hospital.
