British Council Office Awards 2015
Last week Planet Partitioning attended the BCO Awards, inviting members of TP Bennett. HLW, Harmsen Tinley Shane and Structuretone. It was a fantastic evening hosted by The British Council Offices made even better by witnessing three of Planet’s projects receive some well-deserved awards.
Designed by Glenn Howells Architects, Severn Trent Water won the Regional Award for Corporate Workplace Midlands and East Anglia. BCO cited that the building “Reflects the company’s ethos and sustainable commitment”. Working under BAM Construction, Planet supplied and installed the glass in the central atrium. Using Planet acoustic frameless single glazing, Planet provided maximum visibility with no vertical mullions to create a seamless and modern finish within the atrium.
The Living Planet Centre, WWF UK Headquarters in Woking won the National Award for Innovation and the Regional Award for Corporate Workplace London and the South East. The building which has already won a RIBA Suitability award and has a BREEAM Excellent rating and an EPC A grade was designed by Hopkins Architects. BCO credited it being “at the forefront of sustainable design and construction, creating a harmonious link between the urban and the rural” to the buildings success.
Working with Wilmott Dixon Planet Partitioning supplied and installed the internal glazing, both downstairs for the meeting rooms and upstairs along the impressive open plan office which allows trees to grow within the office space. For the meeting rooms, our electronic room booking system was integrated within the frameless full height p100DG partitions, allowing staff to book the meeting rooms via a tablet. When privacy is required Planet’s integral Venetian blinds can be activated by a remote control.
Our last winning project was The Angel Building in London. Winning the coveted National Award for standing The ‘Test of Time’. The project was a frontrunner in environmentally conscious builds, refurbished by Allford Hall Monaghan Morris & BAM Construction it had a BREEAM Excellent rating and an EPC B awarded five years ago, long before it became the target for most projects. According to BCO it is “A benchmark as to how to successfully re-use and reinvent a tires and outdate building”. Planet Partitioning designed and installed the marketing suite and partitioning in the Expedia offices using p20 and our sliding Eclipse doors.
Congratulations to all involved with these projects.
